Tutorial: "Hip Series"
/Hello, Friends!
Today I am going to share with you a tutorial for what I call "Hip Series" on the Pilates Chair--without the Chair.
The exercises within this series are from the Classical Pilates repertoire, but there is no true "order of exercises" for the Chair like there is for the Mat and Reformer. So we, as Pilates teachers, often see connections between/among exercises and we start to put them together, creating our own "series." That's how "Hip Series" came into being. (I made up the name, just FYI.)
Before I take credit for the genius of this series, I have to confess that my teacher and mentor, Debby Orlando, often taught these exercises (plus more!) as a series on the Low Chair. I liked this combo of exercises so much that I obviously had to steal it and teach it to my clients and use it in my own personal workouts. Obviously. ;)

Not everyone owns a Pilates Chair, right?
This video teaches the Hip Series, no Chair necessary.

Folded hand-towel
Stretchy band
Non-Carpeted floor
